Instructions
1. Cut out pictures from magazines or draw your own.
2. Display four pictures at a time that represent words that have one, two, three, or four syllables. For example: car (one), tree house (two), polar bear (three), and teeter totter (four).
3. Ask a child to clap out the syllables of one of the pictures.
4. The rest of the children guess which word the child clapped.
5. When the children have guessed these four words, select new words with one, two, three, or four syllables. Make sure all of the children get a turn clapping out the syllables.
6. Once the children are experienced with this idea, add words with more syllables.
