Materials

Masking tape

Corrugated cardboard, approximately 3' x 3' (1 m x 1 m) (use a cut-up carton)

Paint and brushes

Small and medium-sized boxes in various shapes

Construction paper scraps

Scissors

Glue

Small shoebox

Wood scraps, preferably small cubes/rectangles about 1" to 2" (2 - 5 cm)

Sandpaper

Thumbtacks

Instructions

1. Give each child at least four empty spools.
2. Help the children cut yarn into manageable lengths, no longer than 3' (1 m).
3. Encourage them to wrap the lengths of yarn around each spool. (Tape ends
down.)
4. The children can then take one of the 3' (1 m) lengths of yarn and string the
spools on it to make a necklace.
5. Or, use it as a gift for kitty!
