Instructions

What to do
1. Pour red paint and gold paint in large Styrofoam trays.
2. Give each child a chopstick with which to paint on sturdy white paper.
3. Encourage the children to use the chopstick in different ways, such as painting with the tip of
the chopstick, or immersing the entire chopstick in the paint and laying it down or rolling it on
the paper.
More to do
Snack: Have a Chinese New Year Tea Party. Boil water and pour over tea bags in a clear container
so that the children can see how the tea leaves release their flavor into the water. Add ice cubes
to cool the tea for drinking. Serve fortune cookies.
