Coloring books or workbooks with pictures of the characters in the song "The Farmer in the Dell" scissors markers poster board or oak tag glue stick laminator, optional hole punch ribbon or yarn
Instructions
1. Use coloring books and workbooks for pictures depicting the characters in the song, "The Farmer in the Dell": the farmer, his wife, child, nurse, dog, cat, rat, and cheese.
2. Photocopy the pictures and color them, if needed.
3. Cut them out and glue them to oak tag or poster board.
4. Cut out the pictures and laminate, if desired.
5. Punch holes in the top of each character with a hole punch.
6. Insert ribbon or yarn through the holes and tie the ends together to make a necklace.
7. Assign each child to be a character in the song. The child wears his character necklace and acts out that part of the song as it is sung.
