Instructions

This is an energetic game for 13 children to play together.

1. Draw a giant clock on an outdoor blacktop area, writing the numbers in their appropriate places.

2. Have one child stand in the center of the clock (the hands), while each of the other children stand beside a number.

3. The child in the center stretches out his arms (like the hands of a clock) to two different numbers.

4. He calls out the numbers loudly, "Four and nine, change times!"5. The two children standing at the 4 and 9 have to try and run across the clock and change places before the "hands" can run into one of their empty places.

6. The child without a place becomes the "hands" and calls out two more numbers. The children standing by these numbers switch places.

7. Remind the children to check their number each time because if they switch numbers with another child, they might forget which number they are standing next to.

8. After playing this game a few times the children will be more familiar with the positions of numbers on the clock face.
