Instructions

1. It can be a distracting and chaotic time simply moving children down a
hallway from one activity to another. Teach them this simple song to help
them keep their minds on what they are doing.
2. One day, as you are walking in the hallway, begin to sing this simple song.
Follow the Leader
Hanna (or another child's name) is our leader, our leader, our leader.
Hanna is our leader, our leader today.
Let's follow Hanna, Hanna, Hanna.
Let's follow Hanna, follow Hanna today.
3. Use the Leader of the Day's name in the song.
4. Choose any familiar tune that you think will fit the words, or make up a tune
of your own.
5. If your walk is particularly long, you can add a verse that says something
about your destination.
We're going to the playground, the playground, the playground.
We're going to the playground, the playground today.
6. Add a fun and spontaneous verse as you go along. For example, if you pass
by a room where younger children are playing you can sing:
Wave to the babies, the babies, the babies.
Wave to the babies, the babies today.
7. Celebrate your arrival at your destination by adding one last verse:
We made it to the playground, the playground, the playground
We made it to the playground, now let's go play!
