Instructions

What to do.
1. Have the children cut
out pictures from
magazines.
2. Give each child an
empty cereal box.
3. Show them how to
tuck in the flaps and
secure with glue if
necessary.
4. Using the point of the
pencil, help the children
poke a hole
through each side of
the box.
5. Have the children cut
equal lengths of ribbon
or cord for the handles.
6. The children thread the ribbon or cord through the holes, making a knot on either end to
secure it (some children may need help with this).
7. Using a paintbrush, the children spread glue on both sides of the cereal box.
8. The children arrange and apply the magazine pictures to the glued surface.
9. When they are finished, have them spread another coat of thinned glue over the entire box and
allow to dry.
10. The children may add other objects to decorate and personalize their boxes.
