Instructions

* March 2nd is Dr. Seuss' birthday.
1. Celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday on March 2nd by making "Cat in the Hat"
hats.
2. Paint wide red stripes on easel paper, leaving white spaces in between
each stripe.
3. When the paint has dried, help the children roll up the papers to fit their
heads. Tape the paper to form a stove-pipe hat.
4. Have the children wear their hats while you read The Cat in the Hat.
5. If desired, make "Cat in the Hat" bowties by cutting a bow shape out of
light blue paper. Tape the bow ties to a piece of elastic to fit over each
child's head.
More to do Use watercolors or face paint to paint cat whiskers on the children.
