Instructions

1. With the children, read the book Loudmouth
George and the New Neighbors by Nancy Carlson
several times to familiarize the children with the
sequence of events.
2. Talk with the children about the neighbors that
appear in the book. Ask the children what sounds
the neighbors make.
3. Mix up the order of the cards and show them to the
children.
4. Re-read the story to the children, and invite
them to pick up the correct card at the
various parts of the story.
5. After finishing the story, challenge the
children to recall the order in which the
animals appear in the book. Have them work
together to place the animal cards in the correct
order, identifying the animals as they go.
