Instructions
1. The children assemble or form
a line to transition to another
room or area. Explain that they
will pretend to be the wind as
they move.
2. Tell the children whether it is a
very windy day or a light
breezy day, and they move according to this "windy"
announcement. For example, they move fast for a very windy day and slowly
for a light breezy day.
More to do The children could pretend to walk like the rain falls, sometimes a fast
downpour and sometimes just a light drizzle.
Science: Talk about the wind. Ask the children questions, such as:
* What is a hurricane?
* What is a tornado?
* What are some good things about wind?
* What are some difficult circumstances that happen because of wind?
* What do you like to do on a windy day?
More Science: The children could make a list of objects that might blow in the
wind versus those that might stay put. They could also make a list of animals or
insects that might blow in the wind versus those that aren't affected.
