Instructions
1. The child names an item she sees in the basket and predicts whether the item will fit in her hand.
2. The child picks up the item and wraps her fingers around it to try to hide the item. Ask, "Did you hide it in your hand? Did you predict correctly?"3. For a variation provide three or four different-sized fabric pockets. The child chooses a pocket and predicts if an item will fit inside it or not.More to doMath: Compare your hand size with a friend's. Whose hand is bigger? Who has the biggest or smallest hand in the class? * Trace your hand on a piece of paper and measure with Unifix cubes. Write the numeral somewhere on your paper.
