Instructions

What to do
1. Ahead of time, trim plastic lids to 2" or 3" (5 cm or 8 cm) shapes. Label the lids with the
children's names.
2. Secure the pin backs in a closed position, then help the children glue the pin to the back of
their lid, using small dots of glue.
3. Invite the children to select a number of buttons and arrange them in a design on their lid, then
attach them with glue.
4. Allow the broaches to dry. These make great gifts for special occasions.
More to do
More art: Make a colorful wreath of buttons for the classroom door. Cut bear shapes from felt and
dress them up in fabric scraps, then attach buttons with glue or yarn.
