Instructions

1. Explain to the children that they are going to help make a special place.
2. Use an X-acto knife (adult only) to cut openings in the box. Make a door
large enough for the toddlers to go through and cut several windows in
the sides of the box.
Note: It is best to cut the doors and windows before the children arrive.
3. Help the children paint the box with tempera paint.
4. When the paint has dried, let the child put stickers on the box or glue
scraps of fabric on the walls.
5. Now the box is ready for the children to move into! Invite them to bring
in rugs, pillows, books, and stuffed animals.
6. This special place can be used in many different ways, including as a
quiet corner, a playhouse, a post office, even a bunkhouse!
