Instructions

1. This exercise is one that can be repeated frequently to reinforce the concepts
of over, under, in, on, and beside.
2. Ask the children to sit IN their chair. Explain that they are going to play a
game. When you give a command, they are to go to that place on their chair.
3. Give the following commands:
Get UNDER your chair.
Stand OVER (on top of) your chair.
Stand BESIDE your chair.
Stand IN BACK OF your chair.
4. End the series by saying, "Sit IN your chair."
5. If desired, let the children take turns giving the commands.
More to do
Use beanbags to place "over your head," "under your arm," and so on.
The children can use stuffed animals to place in the positions around the chair.
