3' x 3' white mural paper

plastic tub

Instructions

l Prepare classroom space for children to have enough room to stand and
move.
What to Do
1. Distribute one circle to each child.
2. Invite children to "tune in" to listen and follow the directions to the following
song:

(Tune: "Mary Had a Little Lamb")
If you have a red circle, red circle, red circle,
If you have a red circle, please jump up and down.
Everybody wave your shape, wave your shape, wave your shape,
Everybody wave your shape and slowly sit right down.
(Additional verses)
If you have a blue circle...move it side to side.
If you have a yellow circle...hold it way up high.
If you have an orange circle...move it up and down.
If you have a green circle...move it way down low.
If you have a purple circle...march right in your place.
If you have a brown circle...turn around and 'round.
Assessment
To assess the children's learning, consider the following:
l Are the children able to follow the directions in the song and recognize the
colors?
l Did everyone participate in the activity?
