Materials
simple games and puzzles
inexpensive manipulatives (from a dollar
store)
1" mosaic tiles
small, flat wooden shapes from a craft shop
stamp pad and rubber stamps
paper
5" x 7" index cards
plastic sandwich bags
small boxes
Instructions
1. Cut three to five pieces of clothesline long enough so that when you form a
circle with a piece, five children can comfortably sit inside. Place the circles
on the floor and let the children pretend that they are "birds in a nest."
2. When a parent arrives for pick-up, the "little bird" leaves the nest and flies
away.
3. On other days, children can pretend to be ducks that waddle away or
bunnies that hop away. You can even have children choose what they want
to be.
