Materials

small butterfly or fishing netsinsect countersdie (if possible, use a die with 1, 2, or 3 dots on the six sides for younger children and a regular die for older children)

Instructions

1. This game can be played by two or more children.

2. Each child selects a net and counts out 10 insect counters (20 for older children) and puts them nearby.

3. One child rolls the die.

4. The child counts the number of dots on the side the die lands on and puts that many insect counters from her pile of 10 into the net.

5. The child to her right rolls the die next and adds insect counters to her net.

6. The game continues until one child has all 10 insect counters in her net.
