Smocks

Yarn

Tempera paints

Large paintbrushes

Easel paper

Instructions

1. Encourage the children to wear old clothing and art smocks.

2. Ask the children to choose a buddy or painting partner.

3. Tie the partners' arms together at the wrist with yarn, securing one child's left arm to the other'sright arm.

4. Give the children one or two paintbrushes and ask them to paint a picture at the easel together.They may hold a brush in their free hand or their tied hand, or hold one brush together.

5. When they finish their picture, encourage the children to try again with another partner.
