Instructions

1. Play Musical Lily Pads. Tell the children that they are going to be frogs
that love to jump, dance, and say "ribbitt."
2. Begin by having the children stand on their own "lily pads" (carpet
square or mat) when the music starts.
3. When the music plays, the children dance and jump around the room,
but not on any of the lily pads.
4. Remove a lily pad and then stop the music. The children must quickly
stand on a lily pad. If a child cannot find an unoccupied lily pad, he can
share a friend's lily pad.
5. Explain that you will be taking away a lily pad each time and that they
will share the remaining lily pads with all of the other "frogs."
6. The children will delight in trying to find a way for everyone to squeeze
together and fit onto the final lily pad.
7. This is a great non-competitive game to play. Everyone wins!
