Straws, one per child
Light colored paper
Ruler
Prism
Low-sided tub
Instructions
1. Blow bubbles and catch them on a sheet of paper. They will pop upon contact with the paper but they will leave imprints.
2. Measure the bubbles' sizes using rulers or your own instruments of measure.
3. Use a prism to make the rainbow colors that you see inside a bubble.
4. Let children try a variety of items to make bubbles with, including paper/plastic tubes, slotted spoons, colanders, etc.
5. Make a bubble pipe. (You will need a polystyrene cup, a straw and a pencil.) Punch a hole in the base of the cup and insert the straw. Put some bubble solution into the cup. The children can blow bubbles from their own bubble pipes.
6. Make My Bubble Books. Draw or paint bubbles of different colors and sizes.
7. Where is the bubble? The teacher blows a bubble and the children describe where it goes and where it lands. Children take turns blowing bubbles and telling where their bubbles go.
8. Put soapy water in tubs or a sensory table with egg beaters.
