Newspaper

Mural paper, 3'x 6' (1 m x 2 m)

Tempera paint in assorted colors

Styrofoam or aluminum trays

Different kinds of brushes such as hair, dog, tooth, basting, vegetable, clothing, scrub, and

paintbrushes in varied widths

Instructions

What to do
1. Cover the floor with newspaper. Place mural paper on top of the newspaper.
2. Pour the paint into trays.
3. Invite the children to paint a mural, centered on a particular theme, if desired, using a variety of
brushes.
4. Encourage the children to experiment with several brushes and colors, noting the difference in
appearance.
