What to do
1. Before class, cut a wide-brim hat
from construction paper or poster
board for each child.
2. Invite the children to cut up scraps
of wallpaper or gift wrap and
arrange, then glue them on their
hat.
3. When they are finished, help the
children punch a hole at the bottom
of the brim on both sides of
the hat.
4. Cut ribbon into short pieces and
show the children how to tie the
ribbon to each hole.
More to do
More art: Create a still-life picture of a flower vase or a garden scene using the same technique.
