Large appliance box, such as a refrigerator box
Utility knife (adult only)
Tempera paints and brushes
Glue
Scissors
Large blue paper
Duct tape
Long stick, such as a broomstick
Chairs
Instructions
1. Put one trinket into each of the lunch bags and fold them closed.
2. At Circle Time, gather six to eight children and give each one a bag.
3. Encourage the children to open their bags, one at a time, and identify the
trinket inside.
4. Ask the children which nursery rhyme they think the trinket represents.
5. After they guess the nursery rhyme, recite it together.
6. Continue the activity until all of the children have had a turn.

and visit the classroom to do this activity. Or, dress up yourself!
Dramatic Play: Encourage the children to act out a favorite nursery rhyme using
the props.
