many colored blocks of the same size3" x 5" file cardspen

Instructions

1. Copy the verses of the "Blocks Counting Song" (see the following page) on the file cards.

2. Choose two children, and give them several blocks to make a tower.

3. As the two children build, the other children sing the first verse of the song.

4. When the two children use their last block, choose two new children, give them more blocks, and have those children build the road going to the tower. The rest of the children sing the second verse of the song.

5. Choose two more children to count the number of different blocks of each color used to build the tower and road as the other children sing the third verse.

6. Choose two children to take the tower apart and count the total number of blocks used, while the other children sing the fourth verse of the song.
