Instructions
1. Plan ahead of time and let parents and children know you will be having a
"beach day" in the Construction Zone.
2. Ask parents to dress their children in beach clothing on the big day: swim
trunks, swimsuits, sunglasses, flip flops, hats, and so on.
3. Hand out flower leis made from tissue paper.
4. Encourage the children to build block sandcastles while listening to beach
music, such as "Wipe Out."
5. If desired, hand out ribbons for different categories, such as prettiest
sandcastle, tallest sandcastle, and so on.
