Instructions

1. When the children are doing a large group activity or project, it is helpful to
have an area where they can go when they finish their work. Set up a small
area with books and puzzles and place a rug there.
2. Children finish their work at different rates. Therefore, having an area with
books and puzzles allows those who finish early the opportunity to play in an
area that you can easily supervise.

Offer small manipulatives as an alternative to a puzzle. Provide small carpet rugs
for children who want to work on a puzzle by themselves or to save their work to
finish at a later time.
