Deep in the Forest by Brinton Turkle
11" x 17" white copy paper scissors crayons binding machine or hole punch and yarnInstructions
1. After reading Deep in the Forest, tell the children they will be making a
wordless big book.
2. Cut out the desired number of sheets of paper in the shape of a bear.
3. Give each child crayons and a bear-shaped sheet on which to draw a scene
from the traditional story of the three bears.
4. Let the children help you arrange the pages in sequence.
5. Cut out a bear-shaped front cover and back cover. Bind the pages together
using a binding machine or a hole punch and yarn.
6. The children will enjoy revisiting their creation and telling the story in their
own words.
Tip: Encourage the children to act out the story.
