Materials

sand

water

Mason jars with lids (one per child)

small seashells

small shark teeth

hot glue gun (adult only)

Instructions

1. Make patterns for a doctor's bag and tools by enlarging the following
illustrations, cutting them out, and tracing them on oak tag.
2. Trace the doctor's bag and handle on 12" x 18" black paper and cut out. Trace
two crosses on red paper and cut out.
3. Trace the pill bottle and syringe on oak tag and cut out.
4. Trace the circle for a stethoscope on oak tag or a Styrofoam tray and cut out.
Trace the earpieces of the stethoscope on oak tag and cut out. Connect the
earpieces and the circle with black yarn using white glue.
5. Use a marker to draw pills in the bottle and medicine in the syringe.
6. Fold the bag on the fold lines, and glue the sides to form a box. Glue points
underneath to secure the bottom.
7. Glue a red cross on each side and put the equipment in the bag. Slide the
handle through the slot to close.
8. Add adhesive bandages, cotton swabs and balls, and craft sticks ("tongue
depressors") to the bag.
