2 sheets of card stock

marker

hole punch

yarn

Instructions

1. This simple activity is especially good for helping children develop reflexes. It
also requires them to pay attention and stay alert.
2. When outdoors with the child, or indoors in a large area, give them a signal
(whistle, bell or simply verbal command) to run. They stop when they hear
the signal again.
Note: Vary the time they run. It's easy to develop a pattern so that children
anticipate stopping time. The goal is to respond to the signal.
3. This is a great activity to do at the end of outdoor time.
More to do Indoors or outdoors, try other activities, such as clapping, stamping feet, swinging
arms, clicking tongues (great exercise to improve speech skills) or humming.
