Instructions

1. Show the children how to make
flowers from coffee filters and
pipe cleaners. Form a flower
shape by making a "tent" with
one or two coffee filters, and
then grab the pointed part and
twist it tightly to form the
beginning of a stem.
2. Twist the end of a green pipe
cleaner around the twisted end
of the coffee filter to form the
stem.
3. Help the children make their
own coffee filter flowers.
4. Encourage them to paint their
flowers using Liquid
Watercolors.
5. Help the children tape a piece
of construction paper into a
cone shape to act as the wrapping for a bouquet of
flowers. They may want to decorate this as well.
6. Set up a table for children to "sell"
their flowers. Encourage them to
dictate words for flower shop
signs and glue on flower pictures
cut from seed catalogs. You may want to add plastic
flowers, a cash register, and play money.
