Instructions

What to do
1. Prepare a work surface with newspaper and set out the paint and other supplies.
2. When the children arrive, take them on a hike outdoors, collecting rocks and small stones along
the way.
3. When you return to the classroom, lay the rock collection on the newspaper.
4. Invite the children to paint their rock in any color.
5. When the paint is dry, help the children use the glue to attach eyes, feathers for hair, and small
stones for feet.
6. Help the children glue a plastic diaper on their baby rock.
