Instructions

* Armed Forces Day is May 21st.
1. Invite a member of your local military or police personnel to come in and
talk to the children.
2. Encourage questions, especially about what the military men and
women who are around the world would like sent to them.
3. Make a list of the items mentioned.
4. Talk about a collecting the items on the list.
5. Encourage the children to design posters and flyers. Help them write the
words necessary for advertising. Place the posters around the school and
send copies of the flyers home to families.
6. Gather the donations, package them, and send them with notes from
the children. Hopefully, you will get correspondence back to share with
the children.
