Instructions
1. Moving children from a large group time, such as circle time to center time,
can be difficult, as each child is anxious start playing. Use the Who's Next? Jar
to give the children more control over who goes next.
2. Explain to the children that they will help make a Who's Next? Jar to help
them decide in what order they will go to centers.
3. Let them work together to decorate the jar with a variety of colorful stickers.
4. Print "Who's Next?" on the adhesive label and stick it to the jar. Write each
child's name on a slip of paper or a craft stick and put them in the jar.
5. Bring out the jar after circle time. Pull out a slip of paper or craft stick and
read the name on it. Ask that child which center he would like to go to. After
he answers, let him pull the next name out of the jar.
6. Continue until all of the children have had a chance to participate.
More to do Writing: Let the children use the Who's Next? Jar at the writing table.
Encourage them to pull out the names and copy them on paper or on another
