What to do
* April Fool's Day is celebrated on April 1st. April is also National Humor Month.
1. On April 1st, explain to the children about April Fool's Day.
2. Read the book It's April Fool's Day by Steven Kroll or another book about April Fool's Day.
3. Play the following game: Send one child out of the room. While that child is gone, the rest of the children alter their appearances. When the child comes back into the room, she guesses what each child is doing or wearing differently.
4. Repeat until each child has had a chance to leave the room.
5. A variation is to send a child out of the room. Have that child change his own appearance. When he returns to class, the children guess what the child has altered.
