Materials

red, green, and yellow construction paper for each page of apple bookscissorsmarkersstaplerglue sticksapple seeds or black construction paper "seeds"

Instructions

1. Cut out apple shapes from the colored construction paper. Cut out several for each child. Explain to the children that they will be using the apple-shaped paper to make apple books.

2. Help each child write "_____'s Apple Counting Book" on an apple shape. Let the children decide if they want their books to have only one color of apple, or two, or all three, depending on their preference of apple.

3. Help the children staple the pages together to make a book.

4. On the first page of each book, help the children write "one," then write "two" on the second page, and so on, and help them glue the corresponding number of seeds or paper seed cutouts on each page.
