Instructions
1. Make a comprehensive list of all the hands-on materials you plan to use
during the year.
2. Then, complete a one- or two-page monthly record listing all the materials
you plan to introduce to the children during the month. Include on the list all
of the manipulatives, audiocassette tapes (to use in listening centers), flannel
board activities, and learning mat activities that you plan to use and that
children may use on their own. Be sure to designate where the materials will
be stored and displayed.
3. Use a pencil to make the list because the space in which you work and the
availability of materials will sometimes change during the year.
4. Update the plans monthly.
5. Reuse this record from year to year. It's a great way to jog your memory
about the resources you have collected and remind you how actively engaged
and involved in the activities the children have been. It also makes rotating
the materials throughout the year much easier when you have a plan in
writing.
