Materials

strawberry corn

brown paper bags

microwave

Instructions

1. Strawberry corn is usually sold around Thanksgiving. It is smaller than
regular corn and has a deep red color.
2. Bring some strawberry corn to class. Let the children help remove the
husks.
3. Help the children write their names on paper bags.
4. Place one corn cob in each bag. Close the bag and fold the end shut.
5. Place one bag in the microwave. Heat for three minutes. Do not overcook
or leave unattended.
6. Remove the bag from the microwave. The popcorn should have popped
on the cob, so the children can eat "popcorn on the cob."
