Instructions

1. Display the pictures on a table in the storytelling center.
2. Share the pictures with the children and explain that they will use the
pictures as a story starter.
3. Have each child choose a picture and expand upon it. For example, they
could answer questions such as:
* What were the three men in the tub doing as they sailed along?
* What did Pinocchio do while he was inside the whale?
* Why were Jack and Jill fetching a pail of water?
* What did Sleeping Beauty dream about?
4. Encourage the children to write a story and illustrate it using the pictures.
Younger children may need to dictate the story to an adult.
