Instructions

1. Create a usable, realistic schedule and be consistent. Do not change
your activities or order of activities without a really good reason.
Children feel safe when there is predictability in their daily routine.
2. As much as possible, the same people should work in each classroom.
People can come at different times but this should be consistent from
day to day. Children are happiest if the same person is there each day
when they come to the center.
3. If possible, it's a good idea to have the same person there each day
when the children leave. This helps young children begin to learn that
when a certain person comes to the classroom the day is ending and it
is almost time to go home.
4. When the routine is consistent most of the time, children are better able
to cope with the few unavoidable times when something has to be
different.
