Materials

Instructions

1. Cut poster board into rectangles about the size of playing cards. Make one
for each child.
2. Draw a simple picture of a sailboat on each card. On the other side, write the
child's name. Laminate for durability.
3. Prior to changing activities or going somewhere, get the children's attention
by putting on a sailor's cap and saying, "Ahoy, mates! We set sail in five
minutes! When you hear your name, come get your ticket and I'll show you
where to climb aboard!"
4. As you call each child's name, hand her a ticket and call her "Sailor (child's
name)."
