Instructions
1. In your lesson plans, create a list of quick transition ideas that can be used
any time, or that a substitute teacher can use.
2. Greg and Steve have great ideas for this! The song "Popcorn" is easy to start,
and the minute the children hear the first few notes, they know what to do.
"The Freeze" is another easy-to-do, under-five-minutes transition game.
3. For variety, play some favorite dance tunes and provide a basket of scarves
for some quick movement activities. A rousing John Philip Sousa march, with
or without instruments, gets children moving toward the door, or just
through the room on a rainy day.
