Instructions
1. Have a discussion about animals and their sounds and movements.
2. Let each child choose an animal paper plate. If these are not available, let the
children draw animal faces on white paper plates.
3. Punch a hole on each side of the paper plate and thread ribbon or yarn
through the holes to make a mask or necklace.
4. Cut out ears from construction paper. Encourage the children to glue the
ears to their plates.
5. Tape crepe paper "tails" to the back of each child.
6. Encourage them to put on their masks and make the animal sounds and
movements of their animal.
7. Children can recite animal poems, sing songs, or engage in creative
dramatics with friends.
8. For added fun, let the children mix and match the animal parts to create a
nonsense animal to name and share.
