Materials

Paper Paint

String Blue cellophane

Tape Crayons

Markers

Instructions

1. Cut out shapes of undersea life for children to paint. Older children can cut out their own.

2. Let the children paint the fish.

3. Hang the fish from the ceiling. Put blue cellophane on the classroom windows so it looks like you are all under the sea with fish swimming above.

4. The children can use crayons or markers to draw small fish shapes to tape to the blue cellophane.

5. When people look in the windows it is fun for the children to pretend to swim like fish. If possible, give each child a chance to look through the window at the class.More to doLanguage: Cut a piece of paper with wave shapes at the top. Ask the children to make up "fish stories" to dictate or write on the paper.Math: Count fish crackers as you eat them at snack time.More science: Look at photos of real undersea creatures.
