Instructions

1. When transitioning between activities or when you need to quiet down the
group, hold up your hands and say, "Let's do silent counting."
2. As the children hold up each finger, they mouth the words instead of
speaking, "One, two, three...." This creates instant quiet!
3. You can also have them count backwards silently, sing a familiar song
silently, clap silently, or do the movements to a familiar fingerplay silently.
