Instructions

1. Using paper, markers, and scissors, make a mouse mask for each child and
teacher. Be sure to cut out eye holes so the children can see clearly through
them. Attach the masks to rulers or large tongue depressors.
2. Make a sign that reads, "We are quiet mice. We do not talk."
3. Before leaving the classroom, gather the children and tell them they will
pretend to be "quiet mice" as they walk down the hall. Discuss ways they can
move quietly. Give each child a mouse mask to wear.
4. Choose a child to hold the sign to alert other teachers and children that you
are a group of quiet mice who do not talk.
5. Have fun smiling at everyone in the hallway, but remember no one can talk!
6. This is a great dramatic play activity as well as a way to quietly transition
from one part of the school to another.
