Instructions
1. Have the children put on paint smocks and stand at the table.
2. Tape large pieces of paper to the table. Pour fingerpaint on the table and
encourage the children to move the paint around with their fingers and
hands.
3. Encourage the children to draw and write in the fingerpaint. They can try
shapes, letters, numerals, names, and objects. Remind them that they can
wipe their hands over the fingerpaint to smooth it out and start again.
4. Ask the children to verbalize what they are writing or drawing.
5. Encourage the children to use their arms and elbows to paint, too!
6. This is a good activity for children to practice keeping to their own space and
respecting others' space and drawings.
