Instructions

What to do
1. Give each child (or pair of children) a plastic bag, preferably outdoors. Encourage them to fill
the bags with air. They will quickly and joyfully begin to empty and fill, empty and fill, while
running around.
2. Invite the children to decorate the bags with collage materials. If the bags are transparent, they
can decorate the inside, fill them with air, and have an adult tie a knot to seal them. If the bags
are opaque, they can decorate the outside after the bags are blown up and sealed with a knot.
3. Display bags by hanging them from the ceiling.
More to do
Language: Emphasize more or less, empty or full, and big or small when filling the bags with air.
Outdoor play: Use the bags of air to play a game of catch.
