Jawan Burwell, EdD, CFLE, is the director of the Child Development Lab School at North Carolina A&T State University. A nationally recognized speaker and advocate for inclusive family engagement, he has presented at major conferences such as the National Head Start Association, NAEYC Professional Learning Institute, and the National Black Child Development Institute. Dr. Burwell brings a research-informed, practitioner-focused perspective to the urgent need for meaningful father involvement in early learning. Engaging Fathers is Dr. Burwell’s first book with Gryphon House.
