Materials

Jumbo marshmallows

Black string licorice cut into 2" (5 cm) lengths

Miniature chocolate chips

Instructions

What to do
1. Invite the children to insert four pieces of licorice into each side of the marshmallow.
2. When they have attached the legs, have the children add four chocolate chips for eyes.
3. Eat and enjoy!

More art: Have the children decorate the back of their hand with a spider design using face paint.
Have the children paint a web with string; use white paint on black or colored paper cut in the
shape of a web. Sculpt spiders and other insects from clay.
Movement: Play a selection of music and invite the children to crawl like a spider or weave an
