Instructions

1. This is a fun activity for children to do when they arrive at school. It sets a fun
tone, which relieves some of their anxiety at arrival.
2. Make a mask for each child by cutting eye holes in paper plates. Glue each
plate to a craft stick. Label the concave side of each plate with the child's
name.
3. Tape or staple the masks to a wall outside the classroom for the children to
see when they arrive. Be sure their names are visible.
4. Make several sample masks to display on tables in the class, and make one
for yourself.
5. Put crayons on the table for children to decorate their masks.
6. Greet the children as they arrive and show them your mask. Invite them to
make an animal mask for the "classroom zoo."
